Track 4 on the Digital Masturbation III countdown is from another hidden gem, Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship on NES. This Newtonian physics simulation game is one of the most technically impressive accomplishment in NES programming. The music, by David Wise of Donkey Kong Country fame, manages a nearly impossible feat of making ambient music on an NES sound chip. This track, however is a tight little melody that loops like a barber pole illusion or a musical Shepard tone. In the game, this song has even a bit more pep than Steve's ReMix, which gravitated toward spookier that evoke a sense of deep space danger.
