I've had the MIDI for this on my computer for years, but am not too familiar with the original game. I was surprised while crafting this remix, to discover the the original song is at a much faster tempo than what you hear here. It is unusually fast and funky for a soundtrack to a fairly morbid game. I was puzzling to think where Mr. Nakamura got the inspiration to go in such a uncharacteristic direction with the tone of the soundtrack. I was like, "What else is spooky, and funky, and high BPM pop music?" and before I could complete the thought, the answer dawned on me... It's thriller. It's a total, unabashed wholesale ripoff of Michael Jackson's Thriller. Don't worry, Masato, your secret is safe with me.

Digital Masturbation 3 is a 22 minute EP of remixed soundtracks to classic video games on Sega and NES, produced by Baboon Torture Division. Steve went to the internet to upgrade his synths and sample libraries, and acquired a plethora of free plugins and presets.
What better way to test out this embarrassment of riches than to pipe NES MIDI in and go preset surfing? Digital Masturbation 3 is a medley of highlights from hours of digital wankery.
